<br />
I am sure most of you have heard about BB Cream and probably some of you have been using it for a while now. Since many people were raving about it I had to get one for myself. I was ecstatic about the 3 in 1 function coz I have been looking for a higher SPF since I have moved back to this hot sunny country. I have been using it for at least a week now and these are my thoughts.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyNIlqpBAsd57LcY7ztiBNvxThI4rzK9QbLm0ejBCzJ_U9RmBTEZk0sLbnEDVcw6WzdtU5yA5lJstMzzZrT71TXxi8-W9FcQaPFb6c7hJ0UEFPehjxhT8boo6-kOBQI-4ER7JnAaBuvTcY/s1600/SDC15115.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyNIlqpBAsd57LcY7ztiBNvxThI4rzK9QbLm0ejBCzJ_U9RmBTEZk0sLbnEDVcw6WzdtU5yA5lJstMzzZrT71TXxi8-W9FcQaPFb6c7hJ0UEFPehjxhT8boo6-kOBQI-4ER7JnAaBuvTcY/s640/SDC15115.JPG" width="430" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<br />
<b>Advantages:</b><br />
<ul>
<li>It gives a natural finish like tinted moisturiser </li>
<li>My skin looks healthier, smoother and glowy</li>
<li>It evens out my skin tone</li>
<li>It acts as a good moisturiser/primer before applying foundation</li>
<li>Doesn't break me out</li>
<li>It has a good amount of sunscreen as I really need it here</li>
<li>One tiny pump goes a long way</li>
<li>Inexpensive and it will last me for a while</li>
</ul>
<div>

<b><br />
</b><br />
<b>Drawbacks:</b></div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>This cream makes my skin look more dewy than my Bobbi Brown foundation</li>
<li>The texture is a little bit thick and can be sticky on the face</li>
<li>Sheer coverage and wont hide any scars/marks. So I would set it with my Urban Decay mineral foundation to get a nice coverage. </li>
<li>They only do 1 colour so applying more than a pump will make me look white.</li>
<li>It makes me look grey/ashy when I fist applied it onto my skin but it oxides after 5-10 minutes </li>
</ul>
<div>
<br /></div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Wearing just BB Cream</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div>
As I have only been using it for a week, I will have to wait a little bit longer to see the differences (if any) on my wrinkles. For those who are looking for a medium coverage, this BB cream will not give you that effect. You definitely need to set it with a mineral foundation or apply some concealer to cover any blemishes. Nevertheless I do think it is a good alternative to moisturisers and primers. I will still be using this under my Urban Decay foundation.</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
What do you think of the BB cream? Do you prefer the Gold one or this one? Have a nice weekend everyone! x</div>

I bought some brushes, nail polish and make up.<br />

Now where do I start?<br />
<br />
Nail polish!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_OYZULYkkCia2BD_NVawGfU1JxahDq8VK2iOFmrmZigwNrhH24YfIEVC5D2HSfv4DGis4YimWHTlgtNVLDqwdpnaXyTo8d6gfxvAKSAzOGch5QMlZc9_p4s5CTUShDwgKVN78kIaqx51p/s1600/SDC10863.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="286" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_OYZULYkkCia2BD_NVawGfU1JxahDq8VK2iOFmrmZigwNrhH24YfIEVC5D2HSfv4DGis4YimWHTlgtNVLDqwdpnaXyTo8d6gfxvAKSAzOGch5QMlZc9_p4s5CTUShDwgKVN78kIaqx51p/s640/SDC10863.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I never bought any nail polish from elf before but because they are so cheap I grabbed almost all the colours that I saw on their website. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">As you can see from the first picture (taken from their website), the colour is dark red/maroon with shimmer whilst mine in the second picture was just like a standard red with no shimmer at all. I did wonder if they have sent me the wrong colour but I read the label so many times and it has red velvet printed on the sticker underneath the bottle. So upset! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Quality wise:</div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Poor. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><ul><li>They all peel rather than chip (is that normal?)</li>
<li>They last couple of days only</li>
<li>They are mostly sheer</li>
<li>Not very nice finish. Like semi-matte or rubbery</li>
<li>The darker ones are quite pigmented but you still need 2-3 coats to get a non-streaky finish</li>
<li>Some of my bottles are weird. The bottle and cap do not align when I close it tightly (again, is that normal?)</li>
<li>They stain without a base coat</li>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">Bobbi Brown Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation</span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>First off, I have oily skin which was prone to break outs. I have medium skin tone with yellow undertone. As I used to suffer from horrible acne I am still battling the post-acne scarring. The brown marks are slowly fading but some are quite stubborn and are obvious from a distance. When I did my research to find the right foundation, I typed in:<br />
<ul><li><b>Oily skin</b></li>
<li><b>Acne - prone</b></li>
<li><b>Great coverage</b></li>
</ul>There were a few options for me such as:<br />
<ul><li><b>Clinique Clarifying Make up</b></li>
<li><b>Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation</b></li>
<li><b>Bare Minerals Foundation </b></li>
<li><b>Bobbi Brown Natural Finish Long Lasting</b></li>
<li><b>Estee Lauder Double Wear - I used to wear this foundation but I don't love it. </b></li>
</ul><br />
So, I went to Selfridges to get matched for my colour and went straight to Bobbi Brown as it was the first one that I saw upon entering the mall. The lady tried three different shades on me and we agreed that Natural Tan was the closest to my skin tone. Initially she applied one coat to my skin which gives a natural finish but built it up to cover up my blemished skin. It was a miracle! The scars that you can see from a distance was no longer there, well at least for temporary and I don't look cakey at all! I was totally sold and fell in love with it! I have completely forgotten about the other foundations and left the mall with a cute little yellow selfridges bag with my precious Bobbi Brown foundation in it.<br />
<br />
I have used this foundation for sometimes now and this is what I think about it:<br />
<br />
<b>Pros:</b><br />
<ul><li>Gives me light coverage and can be buildable to medium/full coverage that gives a flawless finish</li>
<li>Covers my scars without looking cakey</li>
<li>Matched my skin tone - thanks to the great range of colours they have!</li>
<li>Doesn't break me out at all!!</li>
<li>Very easy and smooth to apply</li>
<li>Does not oxidise </li>
<li>It has SPF</li>
</ul><div><b>Cons:</b></div><div><ul><li>A bit dewy and oily at the end of the day</li>
</ul><div><br />

<br />
Yes! Gossip Girl is back!!! I was so excited to see what this new season will bring us and of course, their whole new wardrobe!<br />
<br />
While I am personally team Blair, Serena was far more attractive than Blair in this new season. I am not keen of Blair's hair style nor was I dazzled with her outfit so far.<br />

This was my first purchase from Urban Decay which I got from Debenhams a month ago. The lady was very nice to me and found me the right colour that matches my skin tone - Supernova (and I am in natural tan in Bobbi Brown). I am Asian with yellow undertone skin. I also have oily skin with some post acne dark spots and scars.<br />

<b>Pros</b><br />
<ul><li>Glides on the skin easily</li>
<li>Medium to Full coverage that you can build up</li>
<li>Does not look cakey on skin</li>
<li>Between matte and dewy finish (would probably suit oily skin better than dry skin)</li>
<li>Does not break me out at all</li>
<li>Evens out my skin tone (I have post acne dark spots and marks)</li>
</ul><div><b>Cons</b></div><div><ul><li>The sponge/puff! It is so hard to get the product onto the sponge and it already looked gross after 2 uses. I use the kabuki brush from Body Shop (a review soon) to apply the foundation.</li>
<li>It gets dewy as the day goes on. I have to give my face a little touch up sometimes.</li>
</ul><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBcOcyNIGAHJJo3TyvP2uiK0iw9pXcZ7zR8vzdqBOSQz6AlqrmOi6SShG-C1uSisuqnjjRlia1nA7hT3b4dWFaGA7heeOr7AkeZ_ALkuZk6kxENZx9_VdeMY4z9t23VMtjTxVg4L3qoeCB/s1600/SDC14972.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBcOcyNIGAHJJo3TyvP2uiK0iw9pXcZ7zR8vzdqBOSQz6AlqrmOi6SShG-C1uSisuqnjjRlia1nA7hT3b4dWFaGA7heeOr7AkeZ_ALkuZk6kxENZx9_VdeMY4z9t23VMtjTxVg4L3qoeCB/s640/SDC14972.JPG" width="498" /></a></div><div><br />
</div></div>For just £20 this foundation is not expensive at all. It will last for a long time as you just need a little bit of product to get a natural finish. However this mascara, like others still makes my eyelashes feel a little heavy :(<br />

</div><div>Overall, this mascara is nice to wear. It did not blow me away instantly but the result is pretty good compared to my other mascaras. It makes my thin eyelashes look thick and full that also curls my stubborn straight eye lashes. I wore this for over 6hrs and it did not flake or smudge at all. The gold packaging is beautiful and definitely adds glamour to my collection.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><b>Pros: </b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Long and voluminous eyelashes</div><div style="text-align: center;">Does not smudge</div><div style="text-align: center;">Long lasting (at least for the 6hrs I had on)</div><div style="text-align: center;">Very black</div><div style="text-align: center;">Awesome packaging</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Cons:</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Pricey!</div><div style="text-align: center;">Eyelashes feel a little heavy</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

You can read my post here. Since Brunei is hot, I always dress very lightly - tshirt and shorts with a pair of sandals but today I decided to dress up and wear the dress that I adore! <br />

Anyway, here is a short review of what I bought a few weeks ago!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">***</div><br />
If you are in England and like to watch make up tutorials on youtube, I am sure you are familiar with 2 beautiful sisters who have become one of the leading (and successful) make up artists on Youtube - the PIXIWOO! They started of just like other make up gurus - broadcasting themselves on youtube, doing make up tutorials and making reviews. A few years later they hit the website, provide make up classes in their own studio and now they even own a line of make up brushes!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5kn0bjNnJ6MyJCmOfK-8LsEYPkRfIJeGWv8N66_wkdktpNsbdAUghOgRNv298zK4GxL_JL4bH4oDCLZJjrzJMV0Ivd6cyuAkp0Jg0AqSTxav0yZgKZyG1GJhmdtNh7BiIscv7qrdEA7ZK/s1600/Pixiwoo%25281%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5kn0bjNnJ6MyJCmOfK-8LsEYPkRfIJeGWv8N66_wkdktpNsbdAUghOgRNv298zK4GxL_JL4bH4oDCLZJjrzJMV0Ivd6cyuAkp0Jg0AqSTxav0yZgKZyG1GJhmdtNh7BiIscv7qrdEA7ZK/s1600/Pixiwoo%25281%2529.jpg" /></a></div><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">A few months back, I was watching Sam's make up tutorial where she introduced her brushes - Real Technique they call it. You can watch the tutorial here. After watching her youtube video, I knew that I had to get the stippling brush - it costs around £10.99 only!! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I have to say first, their delivery service was awesome - Very speedy and the brush was well packed in bubble wrap. Second, their stippling brush is just incredibly fantastic! It definitely gives a more natural look with High Definition results - just as it claims on the box. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijjyoEfCZOXYClHhOdDopY7LZ2Y44yQq_okoGsJ00_l1fAkSDHSmOY4wPaLu1QlbadDnLtwzjiW1ydIKIZlLddLif1AXw7QRuqoNIWR6udVDVor1G6waqVptisRu64RZqOqgE1rgx5BsS-/s1600/brush3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijjyoEfCZOXYClHhOdDopY7LZ2Y44yQq_okoGsJ00_l1fAkSDHSmOY4wPaLu1QlbadDnLtwzjiW1ydIKIZlLddLif1AXw7QRuqoNIWR6udVDVor1G6waqVptisRu64RZqOqgE1rgx5BsS-/s640/brush3.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzhoKyOOv7Q3AYcRAZTZSTx9QFORj87b_PF150AQgp6gS3XKsovi3TEIyKDglGOKMYwEDgAgfTyPAgqZ1TPMpHDB8GAxDJLPwm8sifwYiLUPpjJYkQALqruv2d-sIWZlFLQw2XPVvLx4q6/s1600/brush.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzhoKyOOv7Q3AYcRAZTZSTx9QFORj87b_PF150AQgp6gS3XKsovi3TEIyKDglGOKMYwEDgAgfTyPAgqZ1TPMpHDB8GAxDJLPwm8sifwYiLUPpjJYkQALqruv2d-sIWZlFLQw2XPVvLx4q6/s640/brush.JPG" width="480" /></a></div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div>The brush is very soft and most importantly it doesn't shed. I use this brush to apply my liquid foundation and it works beautifully and blends easily without any streaks or lines. Although it is a stippling blush, I don't stipple it, I swirl it. I also use this brush to apply my blush and my cheeks never looked so radiant and natural!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIbRJbheot3LNklgtXxiZPrmcIEswAppV-fJ1t2SA1BCgo5_SdqI6XI9QBDqYxW_1q3eDSOHxYCwGozwqwjRDQ-hFrCyg89YRMA4kRs6wRglqcRC1tbE5iwtxfC70-Lk3mwO6AkuqJARrV/s1600/brush1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIbRJbheot3LNklgtXxiZPrmcIEswAppV-fJ1t2SA1BCgo5_SdqI6XI9QBDqYxW_1q3eDSOHxYCwGozwqwjRDQ-hFrCyg89YRMA4kRs6wRglqcRC1tbE5iwtxfC70-Lk3mwO6AkuqJARrV/s640/brush1.JPG" width="480" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The fact that you can stand it on your dressing table is great but it doesn't really intrigue me as I have a place to put all my brushes but the brush itself (the stem/handle) is of a very good quality! If you are looking for an inexpensive, good quality brush that gives a flawless high definition result, this is definitely for you. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline;"></span></div>Mayahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02174516043471875537noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-921307879797870611.post-76691227052109506922011-07-14T18:06:00.000-07:002011-07-14T19:34:42.233-07:00My favourite perfumes<div>As I am a big fan of perfume, I simply cannot decide which one is my favourite. So I am going to list down my top three favourite perfumes that I adore and wear the most. </div><div><br />
</div><div>From the top and probably my most favourite one is.. </div><div><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiovZ1mdps0g2BsSoVv_wizZ6pC1LkEUkLb1CHRnbUL0jaXNaQ0XQEDFy9dYQ4vROmJCs2TSasBmC2n-wHTbWtx-oj0PYzhzlk4HtUWiZyBq8BfZzsZBpwOnf8lsHQkQu9L9yIcfbuE-NpH/s1600/Bvlgari+Omnia+Crystalline+%2528W%2529+EDT+65ml+%2528spray%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="378" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiovZ1mdps0g2BsSoVv_wizZ6pC1LkEUkLb1CHRnbUL0jaXNaQ0XQEDFy9dYQ4vROmJCs2TSasBmC2n-wHTbWtx-oj0PYzhzlk4HtUWiZyBq8BfZzsZBpwOnf8lsHQkQu9L9yIcfbuE-NpH/s640/Bvlgari+Omnia+Crystalline+%2528W%2529+EDT+65ml+%2528spray%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Bvlgari Omine Crystalline</div><div><br />
</div><div>I wholeheartedly love Omnia Crystalline. If I were to pick one amongst my favourite perfumes, it is certainly without doubt, Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline. It has the best of both worlds for me. When you first spray it onto your skin, it gives you clean and fresh scent. After a while, the smell develops into a slight floral and sexy sharp (a very slight hint of masculine) smell. In case you are confuse with how I have described it floral and yet masculine, this is what Omnia Crystalline is described as:</div><div>``a delicate fruity floral experience with notes of bamboo, Japanese pear, lotus flower and balsa wood.'' </div><div>I wear it in the summer and winter mostly and I always get people telling me that I smell nice and what I am wearing. The lasting power is brilliant and I never used more than 3 sprays. </div><div><br />
</div><div>Second on the list is..</div><div><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaFpV_gV_PmBk9SOK9avJt9G56i2hclc3L3D3LWlwPBCGXCvFp-Pd75DT1At7xLBvXyJ4adQbA8311VuY-2eucxqKvXRXI8MnAuZ62wFFapfrjgsjYSCa3cB-nW3SlH0HTvZDSCGd1t-60/s1600/SAM_0306.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaFpV_gV_PmBk9SOK9avJt9G56i2hclc3L3D3LWlwPBCGXCvFp-Pd75DT1At7xLBvXyJ4adQbA8311VuY-2eucxqKvXRXI8MnAuZ62wFFapfrjgsjYSCa3cB-nW3SlH0HTvZDSCGd1t-60/s640/SAM_0306.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">D&G Rose The one</div><div><br />
</div><div>I remember smelling it the first time in Debenhams a year ago and I fell in love with it almost straight away. It actually took me by surprise I must say as I never liked rose scented perfumes. This one is totally different. It definitely has the rose scent but very subtle, sweet, fruity and fresh and when they are all mixed up it gives a delicious romantic scent. I don't normally wear this on a daily basis because it does smell expensive (you know what I mean) and would most suitable for dinners and big events. The lasting power is not as good as Bvlgari of course but it does last me for a couple of hours or so.</div><div><br />
</div><div>Last but not least, </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigehLiQkan9gw8e1hKaEz_7sAn-4oXpMGFsndUegVlzTDL2OEKmBHTUEQLsjI5odK0hI0nQyxdbczPLD5cDs5g7eLrdK768VhC7BCkn5czbnk13zMTCxEE-RPwBY_3vQiRRqnCCnlTDHty/s1600/1946714.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigehLiQkan9gw8e1hKaEz_7sAn-4oXpMGFsndUegVlzTDL2OEKmBHTUEQLsjI5odK0hI0nQyxdbczPLD5cDs5g7eLrdK768VhC7BCkn5czbnk13zMTCxEE-RPwBY_3vQiRRqnCCnlTDHty/s400/1946714.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Chloe EDT</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> (Sorry I had to grab this photo of the internet instead of using mine because of what had happened to it)</div><div><br />
</div><div>This perfume reminds me of Paris because it was actually love at first sight when I first saw this pefume in Sephora at Champs Elysees. I first fell in love with the bottle and when I sprayed it onto my hand, I was completely mesmerised by the sweet floral scent. When I first got it I wore it every single day to college until one day, I over-sprayed myself (because I just loved it too much) and that made me feel nauseous. I had to stop wearing it for a couple of months but my love for it never fade.</div><div><br />
</div><div>The only downside about this perfume is the quality of the packaging. I love the design and the glass bottle. It looks expensive (well, it is definitely not a cheap perfume), sophisticated and feminine. However, my bottle seems to have oxidised because the yellow/gold colour that wraps around the top of the bottle has now changed its colour. I thought it reacted with my febreze mist coz I accidentaly sprayed onto the bottle once but my sister said it is not because of that but the metal thing oxidises over time.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJpQ4_NBTz_IeA44VLzOF1o_TQVd4m-Ghj3f10AZZOLn02Qd1ymXTuy7BWU-SHEFJJu4kkQrZYOOqElxtwajgncg9wizvqVyULhdH_kP15eO0P4q8QhiSJTFbx-K9qPQMqkjEU1ICbIiWi/s1600/IMG00920-20110715-0158.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJpQ4_NBTz_IeA44VLzOF1o_TQVd4m-Ghj3f10AZZOLn02Qd1ymXTuy7BWU-SHEFJJu4kkQrZYOOqElxtwajgncg9wizvqVyULhdH_kP15eO0P4q8QhiSJTFbx-K9qPQMqkjEU1ICbIiWi/s640/IMG00920-20110715-0158.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />
Sorry for the appalling quality of the photo as this was taken literally a second ago with my phone. But can you see that the top bit of the perfume has tarnished?<br />
<br />
So there you go. My top three favourite perfumes that I adore. What is your favourite perfume?</div>Mayahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02174516043471875537noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-921307879797870611.post-20703701803128435762011-07-05T08:00:00.000-07:002011-07-05T08:00:06.976-07:00Bow Wedge Pump Shoes<div>Other than diamonds and bags, shoes are definitely women's bestfriend! Sometimes I wonder how many pair of shoes are sold each year. Millions? Billions?</div><div><br />
</div><div>Choosing a pair of shoes for myself can be a nightmare. I have very small feet, 2.5 UK (Size 35 US) although some size 3 shoes can fit me just fine. I am also short - only 4'11 (very short, I know) so flats or the regular pumps are a big NO for me. Do you see how I have already short listed my options? </div><div><br />
</div><div>Most of my shoes are high heels and wedges however I like and prefer wearing wedges because not only that they give me height they are definitely more comfortable than heels! I do not own and have never owned a pair of the regular flat pump shoes but whenever I see my sister wearing her flat pumps they looked so cute! So I thought it's about time that I get myself a pair of pumps. I did some research as to which pumps would suit me and I found this!</div><div><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhupkd-51LXO5gINTolwmL0SkzcjKD8z_cBwyN3UmdMzs11uuJVXZi0wUIhyblhsgVsvFlJMGDjLxWlBGOeV-U3gO63y5Vq-y8gVSHHcyUImnKHhUJ117Vz4wVMZjvnN6pxHAb2bOCjjzSG/s1600/IMG00833-20110705-1428.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhupkd-51LXO5gINTolwmL0SkzcjKD8z_cBwyN3UmdMzs11uuJVXZi0wUIhyblhsgVsvFlJMGDjLxWlBGOeV-U3gO63y5Vq-y8gVSHHcyUImnKHhUJ117Vz4wVMZjvnN6pxHAb2bOCjjzSG/s640/IMG00833-20110705-1428.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">A very cute bow wedge pump shoes from La Redoute</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Be it your face or your body? I think exfoliation is important in order to get a healthy looking, radiant and glowing skin. It also maximises moisturising effectiveness making our skin feel softer and younger.<br />
<br />
I used to have acne prone skin and because of my skin condition, I must and could only exfoliate twice a week. Now that my skin is clear from blemishes (although I am left struggling with post-acne scars), I normally exfoliate my skin once a week or even twice a week if I am travelling. I will blog about my facial scrub next time. With my body, I exfoliate once a week focusing more on my upper arms, thighs, heels, elbows and bottom.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-HLsExRXCeGQPP16xSZXMT8povSpw48R9_3wYeKq5LJeF0ZO4a0P-MIprV2CIJexQmjlq7P-kSyUVLp__ENmsciyI0BxZuFUsC6fyepcUSBQmxJAOHosQAD5kBw8Iy3ih3gOB_2Npu14F/s1600/clarins_smoothingscrub.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-HLsExRXCeGQPP16xSZXMT8povSpw48R9_3wYeKq5LJeF0ZO4a0P-MIprV2CIJexQmjlq7P-kSyUVLp__ENmsciyI0BxZuFUsC6fyepcUSBQmxJAOHosQAD5kBw8Iy3ih3gOB_2Npu14F/s400/clarins_smoothingscrub.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I have been using Clarins Smoothing Body Scrub all this while. It is gentle for my sensitive skin and rinses away easily without leaving a residue. I first got this body scrub as a gift from a friend about 3 years ago and I completely fell head over heels with the smell that I had to buy a bigger one myself. I also like the fact that it has micro beads and not granules as I found that granules are quite abrasive. This body scrub is thick and non greasy which leaves my skin feeling clean and silky smooth. The only downside is the price. It is not cheap (I think I bought it around £27 for 20ml at Boots) but it is worth every penny!<br />
<br />
Unfortunately I ran out of it a month ago and I decided to try something new and cheaper. I got myself Boots Botanics Moisturing Sugar Scub costing only £5.87 for a 450ml jar. What a bargain!<br />
<br />

</div>But I was so disappointed when I first used it. It was too greasy and too thick that it was almost water-resistant. I had to take another shower to get rid of the grease although my skin did feel smooth after that. So the next week I tried it again by using a small amount - same thing! It was impossible to get it off my skin without taking another shower. The worse thing about this scrub is that it gave me blemishes on my chest! I don't know if I scrubbed too much or it is because of the grease. But whatever it is, I am not going to use this let alone repurchasing it. What is your favourite body scrub?Mayahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02174516043471875537noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-921307879797870611.post-69949271379826617222011-06-28T05:02:00.000-07:002011-06-28T19:37:50.518-07:00How should I treat a burn on my arm?Something not nice happened yesterday. I burned my arm on a hot steel rack in the oven. My arm literally touched the steel rack for just a second and look what it had done to my skin.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhOebk7QxLR-6MEYh-eX9qoGkxXQgLNg29UwJ4lre3todyvmStCN67VmCWDrjEOmf2S0ozyOVcjyV0fghVMVTjBHd7dJUhHdhl1AN2ElC1GAv17cWENywUZWFJLw7ZUl-eqg7oCO2tLfwp/s1600/SDC11981.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhOebk7QxLR-6MEYh-eX9qoGkxXQgLNg29UwJ4lre3todyvmStCN67VmCWDrjEOmf2S0ozyOVcjyV0fghVMVTjBHd7dJUhHdhl1AN2ElC1GAv17cWENywUZWFJLw7ZUl-eqg7oCO2tLfwp/s400/SDC11981.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I don't know how you treat burns but for me ice do not work at all. Infact ice would normally make it worse by giving me painful blisters. And if you leave the ice for too long, you can get frostbites *yikes!* I am no expert in this but from my research, this is due to extreme temperatures (too hot and too cold) which can irritate the skin. So instead of using ice I just ran my arm under cool water. No blisters whatsoever! Then I applied Palmer's Cocoa Butter onto the burn as I do not want any scarring. I don't know if this will work but I do have faith in Palmer's Cocoa Butter. They are awesome stuff. I will definitely keep you posted!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Apart from the smell, I love Palmer's Cocoa Butter! I loathe the chocolate smell (any food smelling lotion/masks/lipgloss make me feel sick) so I got the fragrance free one. Despite it being fragrance free it has quite of an unpleasant smell but I think I got used to it already after using it for quite awhile. I use it everyday without fail and the result is just wonderful. My skin feels so soft and it makes my skin glow too. Definitely my all time favourite cocoa butter! Now that I have burn scars, let us see if this stuff help reduce them too.</div>Mayahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02174516043471875537noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-921307879797870611.post-8372032525235918862011-06-27T14:02:00.000-07:002011-06-29T05:11:20.861-07:00Rosie Huntington-WhiteleyI can now say that I am a fan of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley! I don't know if you noticed but she looks like a mix of Cameron Diaz and Gemma Arterton. Her eyes are just so sexy and mesmerizing, nevermind her lips. So what do you think of her replacing Megan Fox in the Transformers 3?<br />
<br />
The dress that she wore at the London premier was so beautiful too although I liked her dress at the Berlin premier more. Well, regardless what she wears I think she can basically pull anything with that body and legs. So lucky! Here are some of the dresses that she wore at her premiers.<br />

I finished my LLB Law last year and currently doing the Bar. It used to be called the Bar Vocational Course (Bar) but they have changed it to Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC). If I were to summarise this whole course, I'd say it is extremely intense! If you are not ready to sacrifice your social life, think twice! I do not mean it to be bad altogether but I have to say you must be ready to dedicate most of your time to this course. Do you remember when you were a full time student in your undergraduate? Well, that was just a playschool dear friend. This course is extremely hardcore and if I were to compare it with something, I'd say it is like being in a military camp! But on the other hand, this is what I'd like to become one day - a barrister.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Towards the end of my course a few months back, we had an annual dinner at the Crown Plaza Hotel. I like annual dinners or black tie events because it is the time that I could dress up! Now, being a lawyer ( I am not one yet but will become one very soon, fingers crossed), you have less time for yourself. Your shopping is limited to white shirts and black pencil skirts, your hair will be tied up in a bun all the time or covered by a wig (it is a lifesaver on bad hair days!) and of course, red lipsticks all the way.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmKAS41zmHEti572RDF1GCluUhWpuwZMMqLCb9mmOY9sIlm4oDBpHFH0sNy9ALLuSoeDkg3fdwxhRM_2t1C3fVeeKOEO_x1h4VHXsE_aIUELLQV66TVoRoX0qb7HWNa2E5IGXlnaImtman/s1600/SDC11695.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmKAS41zmHEti572RDF1GCluUhWpuwZMMqLCb9mmOY9sIlm4oDBpHFH0sNy9ALLuSoeDkg3fdwxhRM_2t1C3fVeeKOEO_x1h4VHXsE_aIUELLQV66TVoRoX0qb7HWNa2E5IGXlnaImtman/s400/SDC11695.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This was one of the many days when we had to go to court at 8.30 am!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
But that does not stop lawyers from being glamorous and becoming celebrities on special events! At the annual dinner event, I was so excited to see everyone dressed up in their best outfit and who would have thought that the ladies can do their own make up as if they are a make up guru!</div>
<div>

Here are some pictures of my colleagues and I at the annual dinner. </div>

Do you have make up tips for special events?</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
I am happy to say that I have finished my course but still waiting for my results. I really hope that I pass all my exams *fingers crossed* so that I can become a full time shopper and make up junkie, before I start practising as a lawyer. I really miss having fun with make up, dressing up, watching make up gurus on youtube and of course reading people's blogs. So let's hope for the best and if you are waiting for your results too, I wish you all the best! </div>

One may think that I probably have left the blogging world for good! Surprisingly I am still going to write, at least I will try!<br />
<br />
Speaking about leaving for good, I am leaving the UK for good soon! It feels so odd saying that - suddenly it feels so real! In just a few months time, I will be home wearing flip flops and shorts 24-7 all year round. Home is Brunei and it is a hot tropical country. You're talking about 30 degrees and humid! You can't walk from one building to another without sweating like a pig. That is why we don't walk and everyone is do dependent on their cars - very bad, I know. Anyway, despite it being so hot and humid (which is probably not a good match), it is home. Due to that reason, I have been busy packing my stuff to ship back home. Gosh! Who would ever thought that stuff can actually breed faster than the UK's population! So far I am 80% packed and I already have 11 big boxes. Crazy!!<br />
<br />
I am going to miss the United Kingdom so much and it is a place that I will always call my second home. I always complain about the gloomy and cold weather but I guess it is true that you do not appreciate something until you lose it. Now that I know I will never have winter again (Brunei has one season only i.e summer) I wish I enjoyed and appreciate winter more than I did.<br />
<br />
So these are some pictures of my humble flat.. a home that always gives me comfort, shelter and happiness even on gloomy weather and bad days.<br />

It's been awhile since the last time I blogged. I am definitely useless in keeping my blog alive and I am not surprise that I have few followers!<br />
<br />
Anyway, I have been very busy lately nevermind suicidal. I have all the stress in the whole world as exams are just around the corner. The Bar is no joke! I have work everyday even during the weekends. Hmm.. I don't know if it is even legal to make us work 24-7!<br />
<br />
Just to let you know.. I have officially graduated with a 2:1 LLB Law! Well, I have finished my undergraduate last year in July but our graduation ceremony was not till Feb this year. To tell you the truth, it was one of the best days of my life! My mom was here to celebrate with me and I couldn't be much happier!<br />
<br />
A week before my graduation, my boyfriend and I went to Westfield in Merry Hill to find my outfit. Looking for clothes was easy but looking for the right shoes (and the right size) was a pain in the bum! My feet are soo small that none of the shoes are designed for me. In case you're wondering, I am a size 2.5 (US 35). If anyone knows where to buy petite shoes (in the UK or useful websites), please do let me know!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCNwwhEMpOrRpQyW6cpCVk74h4yRymbudukvkVmPI7rthA6Ct1YiWWqw_kSXmdBcxcS3OlYCT4G75wVYXMj_YcrEs9tel87OzfZK9KWppiZzTXgfG5Ep53wpWTlCK1LySbukx9aoiWdwNw/s1600/Untitled.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCNwwhEMpOrRpQyW6cpCVk74h4yRymbudukvkVmPI7rthA6Ct1YiWWqw_kSXmdBcxcS3OlYCT4G75wVYXMj_YcrEs9tel87OzfZK9KWppiZzTXgfG5Ep53wpWTlCK1LySbukx9aoiWdwNw/s640/Untitled.png" width="378" /></a></div><br />
I initially wanted to wear this black dress from Jane Norman. I fell in love with this black dress but sadly, size 6 is only available online. I didn't want to risk it coz my graduation is in a week time. There were a few nice dresses that we've found but I ended up buying this from West One.<br />
<br />

I just changed the belt with a bigger one so that it hides my not-so-flattering-belly. Hehe</div><br />
<br />

My friend was kind enough to give me his unused trial kit to see if it would help clear my acne. To be fair, I can already see a difference after 3 weeks of using them! For your information, my skin is oily, acne-prone and I also suffer from discolouration due the acne-post scars. I know, poor me.<br />
<div><br />
</div><div>The trial kit that I had includes:</div><div>1. Dermal Clay Cleanser</div><div>2. Skin Resurfacing Cleanser</div><div>3. Multi-Active Toner</div><div><br />
</div><div>I am over the moon with these products and was so happy to see them in big bottles when I unwrapped my Christmas presents. I cannot thank much these generous people who got me these things for Christmas!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDbF9tDNH1rDNgLh4GtkQYN84tHCiU1QF7de3HhZBVjbLpyroMJIUnckw7SncfpqPpfwL3ZmiomU-zyLKTIncMDSdsWsFL-5NKVw2jctgoBlUeZtWQOfpLyVfM64NR791tJFoa3p8cSVKI/s1600/SDC10421.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDbF9tDNH1rDNgLh4GtkQYN84tHCiU1QF7de3HhZBVjbLpyroMJIUnckw7SncfpqPpfwL3ZmiomU-zyLKTIncMDSdsWsFL-5NKVw2jctgoBlUeZtWQOfpLyVfM64NR791tJFoa3p8cSVKI/s320/SDC10421.JPG" width="240" /></a></div></div><div><div style="text-align: center;">Derma Clay Cleanser</div></div><div><br />
</div><div>This product says:</div><div>A skin-perfecting formula designed to provide deep-cleansing to oily, congested skin. </div><div><br />
</div><div>Review:</div><div>I cannot agree more! This is probably the best cleanser I have used. Since I have started using it, my face has never got shiny once! I don't even break out. It also makes my face feels light, breathable and fresh without overdrying my skin. The only downside that I can think of is the design of the bottle. For 250ml, there is no pump dispenser and the bottle can be too hard to squeeze. <br />
<br />
</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0bBh2-ZpKyghqYtSjObaJEpHQwccq61d6rS9GnZuTz9FP0J6OtBA3j0SjKWLVa8vWb-JdKZ4Fx6TdAO3VFtfjBhOSPiO-26E9pZLNcT-EvYj56z-sKjmboTDQzGSPOGqeTx6DYyndyjjJ/s1600/SDC10422.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0bBh2-ZpKyghqYtSjObaJEpHQwccq61d6rS9GnZuTz9FP0J6OtBA3j0SjKWLVa8vWb-JdKZ4Fx6TdAO3VFtfjBhOSPiO-26E9pZLNcT-EvYj56z-sKjmboTDQzGSPOGqeTx6DYyndyjjJ/s320/SDC10422.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Skin Resurfacing Cleanser</div><br />
</div><div>The product says:<br />
Achieve superior smoothness and ultra-clean skin after just one use with this dual- action exfoliating cleanser. Helps retexturize skin suffering from visible signs of aging by removing dulling surface debris and helping accelerate skin renewal. Antioxidant Vitamin E conditions and enhances softness while fortifying the skin's natural moisture barrier. </div><div><br />
</div><div>Review:<br />
I am only 24 and some people say that we should only start using anti-aging products when we see first signs of wrinkling. I think it's a good idea to start using anti-aging products long before you're even thinking about wrinkles! My friend said this also helps in reducing the post-acne scars that I am suffering at the moment. The weird thing about this cleanser is that it sank into my skin quickly on application! It was like applying a moisturiser! Could that be right? The instruction does tell you to massage at least 30 seconds so maybe that is how it was supposed to react anyway. 3 weeks after using this cleanser, my skin is certainly brighter, smoother and starting to glow. I am not sure if it has reduced my scars yet but so far I am liking the glowing effect so I am going to continue using this cleanser. </div><div><br />
</div><div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6VPwXtXsH1_39T6_jocH__FpfgrG2uUTGnjm-N5ZHG26cbXsuiZOyqYslz6S2VqiBh0lMpTSWC5Lfn8ERQN4MkcTBFQqCdzhpDT2Q9NlN1Ev_Clyv838OcEKDWRrYSrvOqRm-xA2gryFw/s1600/SDC10423.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6VPwXtXsH1_39T6_jocH__FpfgrG2uUTGnjm-N5ZHG26cbXsuiZOyqYslz6S2VqiBh0lMpTSWC5Lfn8ERQN4MkcTBFQqCdzhpDT2Q9NlN1Ev_Clyv838OcEKDWRrYSrvOqRm-xA2gryFw/s320/SDC10423.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Multi Active-Toner and Soothing Protection Spray </div></div><div><br />
I can't really say much about the multi-active toner coz I have now swapped it with the Soothing Protection Spray. It is described by dermalogica as a shield that protects your skin against external environmental assaults like irritating cosmetic products, pollution from cars, dust etc. Although the Multi-Active toner did help hydrate my skin I just think that the soothing protection spray would be better for my skin in the winter. As my skin gets flaky over the winter, this spray hydrates my skin more than the multi-active toner. It also has a wonderful smell which is hard for me to describe but it is simply wonderful!<br />
<br />
<br />
</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9huZxKg6xEy9NMRMsbfEbt-KI_zfjVJD6SUmPGN7W6mR4BtfmsIIuYxHOPOjMfigmENSeNHfUeuEwdMOcklQs0HsLJ2oRiDwY8MdYxZHWDR2-hcaAIOMD64Q6CGNHNDxX4_FD5jDFpsoc/s1600/SDC10424.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9huZxKg6xEy9NMRMsbfEbt-KI_zfjVJD6SUmPGN7W6mR4BtfmsIIuYxHOPOjMfigmENSeNHfUeuEwdMOcklQs0HsLJ2oRiDwY8MdYxZHWDR2-hcaAIOMD64Q6CGNHNDxX4_FD5jDFpsoc/s320/SDC10424.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">1, 2, 3</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div>So here is my new skin regimen:<br />
I wash my face with 2 facial cleansers, twice a day. Once with the Derma Clay Cleanser and then I will massage my face for at least 30seconds with the Skin Resurfacing Cleanser. Next is the Soothing Protection Spray. I spray it directly to my face and then gently rub in.</div><div><br />
</div><div><div>Result: Hardly ever break out and my skin is less greasy. I love love love Dermalogica! </div></div><div><br />
</div><div><br />
</div>Mayahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02174516043471875537noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-921307879797870611.post-82471905744435461902010-12-22T16:14:00.000-08:002010-12-22T17:01:07.789-08:00Molton Brown - Naran JiI've always liked Molton Brown bathing brand but their products do not come cheap. As I am living on a student budget, I don't think I am ready to splurge £15 on a hand wash just yet. Oh well, gotta love being a student!<br />
<div><br />
<div>Anyhow, as a member of the Middle Temple (one of the Inns of Court in the United Kingdom - where I will be called to the bar once my course has finished), we're spoilt with the luxury of having Molton Brown handwash everywhere in the wash room/changing room. My friend Aaron really likes the smell of Naran Ji handwash from Molton Brown. He once told me that whenever he's in the changing room, he would normally use four to five pumps each time he washes his hands. Nope, he does not have OCD just obsessed with the smell. </div><div><br />
</div><div>So, knowing that he really likes the smell of the Naran Ji hand wash, I thought of surprising him with a little gift from Molton Brown.. Tadaa....<br />
<br />
<br />
</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLFLoLFRDVKuM0IkN9YhUUBJTT0mCMAiDaaBybc0Y_568KfvbKwEn-kePH9f7MPojJj0_gveBbEXBhv9DfikDARejEQq1uDx_RP7c-xNFsKyrRjqmZWDsGn6FoHSQWCgYCVvpif-YakZ8m/s1600/SDC12821.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLFLoLFRDVKuM0IkN9YhUUBJTT0mCMAiDaaBybc0Y_568KfvbKwEn-kePH9f7MPojJj0_gveBbEXBhv9DfikDARejEQq1uDx_RP7c-xNFsKyrRjqmZWDsGn6FoHSQWCgYCVvpif-YakZ8m/s320/SDC12821.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Naran Ji handwash and the hand lotion.</div></div><div><br />
</div><div>Now, how should I describe the scent? I think this handwash has a mixture of citrussy and spicy with undertones of cinnamon. I don't normally like the smell of cinnamon but this one is not overpowering at all. However, I personally think that the smell is more suitable for men than it is for women. <br />
<br />
As for the lotion, I had a quick sniff in the shop and I could say that the smell is extremely mild. - which is good as you don't want it to clash with your perfume. Although it can be quite runny, it is easy to use as it has a pump-action dispenser. What I love most about this lotion is that it is very light, non-greasy and absorbs into the skin in seconds!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKjkJ5ZCMmCELu9xNNbXlzS9A0UOB7MMX-ZZhdJFBw5r2vMVSnrdASYFKfiWcTuWinZkIqSwBjHF3hduEuqE0Tm7mZhRvkRvuB0XqRioEXOBEG6oqfbqNBlWOwj9Psr-H60IM6xqNKiG3_/s1600/SDC12826.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKjkJ5ZCMmCELu9xNNbXlzS9A0UOB7MMX-ZZhdJFBw5r2vMVSnrdASYFKfiWcTuWinZkIqSwBjHF3hduEuqE0Tm7mZhRvkRvuB0XqRioEXOBEG6oqfbqNBlWOwj9Psr-H60IM6xqNKiG3_/s320/SDC12826.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>Packaging wise, Molton Brown manage to keep the packaging minimal. Their clear/transparent plastic bottles are just classy and they will definitely look lovely on show in the bathroom! I do think that they will make a very good Christmas present. I also like the fact that they come with a very cute bag with a little ribbon to tie it together. This way, there is no wrapping nightmare to deal with! </div></div>Mayahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02174516043471875537noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-921307879797870611.post-23377928257965582862010-12-11T16:16:00.000-08:002010-12-11T16:17:48.908-08:00Beautiful and Elegant = Blair WaldorfI am a huge fan of Gossip Girl and Blair is definitely my favourite! I still think that she is one of the prettiest woman I have ever seen on TV! I love her beautiful doe eyes, high cheekbones and oh so perfect porcelain complexion. I may have a crush on her at one point. I mean, who doesn't? Here are some of her best outfit and make up that I adore soo much!<br />

Some people may say that Serena has a better wardrobe but I personally prefer Blair's. I mean, both have different styles so I can't really judge. Serena is more towards a boho-chic style or Kate Moss's inspired whilst Blair is more of a preppy kind of style with a feminine and elegant touch. And she only wears dresses and skirts (never seen here wearing a pair of jeans before!). Now, if only I could actually shop their closets!<br />

It was not a lavish one but everyone was definitely enjoying their time dancing to some 80s songs! Anyway, this post is just to tell you guys how pleased I was to see the photos that were taken by Steven Oliver, the photographer that night. He took some shots of Adam and I and these are the outcomes.</div><div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixxk7OX5iyHXb25P2LkYv0OZg1e9q2a9XzOgtpw_NZTf99PoNnuqP0PLC6y-ofYGc41erEm-vYo2dKTKCufD7u2o4Dhd-gfPDF10JL9kfZd2YbEo443goKaeRReJiCuCNqh84eUYZvCBb3/s1600/0010029.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 213px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixxk7OX5iyHXb25P2LkYv0OZg1e9q2a9XzOgtpw_NZTf99PoNnuqP0PLC6y-ofYGc41erEm-vYo2dKTKCufD7u2o4Dhd-gfPDF10JL9kfZd2YbEo443goKaeRReJiCuCNqh84eUYZvCBb3/s320/0010029.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5548864694488623826" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0cRnE2oIB8EQ9eoUhyphenhyphen62-LZRGX9ieR8XxCp9mhfd2_8oGOqsbxXJJ9RrNFbqgtVz_DOgTyAChlDxJJHSbrYqu4G-4sI4RcMoasqYbqfruGiOQNUOvtbolOvRsU36sKbtRBAQ-GYyDc9BB/s1600/0010028.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 213px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0cRnE2oIB8EQ9eoUhyphenhyphen62-LZRGX9ieR8XxCp9mhfd2_8oGOqsbxXJJ9RrNFbqgtVz_DOgTyAChlDxJJHSbrYqu4G-4sI4RcMoasqYbqfruGiOQNUOvtbolOvRsU36sKbtRBAQ-GYyDc9BB/s320/0010028.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5548864610871090338" /></a><br /><div>Steve the photographer is a very pleasant man and friendly. I pretty much fall head over heels for this perfume when I was in Sephora in Champs-Elysees (Paris), but I never got it. I did put it in my birthday list instead (in which I was torn between this one and Rose, The One by D&G).</div><div><div><span class="Apple-style-span"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 15px; "><b><br /></b></span></span></div><div><br /></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiGMVGxJSpiiXFp1R5kksELMyeb50hyTNPHkj-8DCp5CuQiZfgC-jCAdw8WXelNXeEeekwpcLmfsLwjcRj8RaUJaQ57TJCXxO32D1OiynbnYmt1ncUYcGQo7vr6NSeKB2NnKQYHHavlLaN/s1600/38626_422449003987_510148987_4616174_4510114_n.jpg"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiGMVGxJSpiiXFp1R5kksELMyeb50hyTNPHkj-8DCp5CuQiZfgC-jCAdw8WXelNXeEeekwpcLmfsLwjcRj8RaUJaQ57TJCXxO32D1OiynbnYmt1ncUYcGQo7vr6NSeKB2NnKQYHHavlLaN/s320/38626_422449003987_510148987_4616174_4510114_n.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5548854095746095314" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px; " /></a><div style="text-align: center;">(My man got this perfume for me)</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div>I've always liked perfumes with fresh smell, not too sweet but yet, girly. So today I decided to try it and... I am disappointed.</div><div><br /></div><div><div>First, the shade is totally wrong for my skin tone at the moment. I have gone two shades darker (travelling doesn't help at all) and I am/was NC30 in Mac. I got the shade in 30 Almond and it proves to be too light for my skin. Fail!</div></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBb9Mwhfwt_3SbPt-VN9-OalJ1v2vWA-mXZCh4e1-oZBDhVgMQAtidWrtLti5Q1yB1oHK8kKLFngJ6Z-2S_7AQrOQ1TnqlylOr0Vpy6UzkpxY7XMl82PQ_SEUzE5X_uiuTGmcfz8FM01QW/s1600/foundation.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBb9Mwhfwt_3SbPt-VN9-OalJ1v2vWA-mXZCh4e1-oZBDhVgMQAtidWrtLti5Q1yB1oHK8kKLFngJ6Z-2S_7AQrOQ1TnqlylOr0Vpy6UzkpxY7XMl82PQ_SEUzE5X_uiuTGmcfz8FM01QW/s320/foundation.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5509732093058329218" /></a><div style="text-align: center;">(You can see that my forehead is way darker than the rest of my face)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>Although to be fair, this foundation glides on my skin easily giving me a flawless finish. It is so light that you'd never think that you have any make up on! It also gives full coverage without looking cakey at all. So if you have blemishes or post-blemish marks, this foundation works better than any of the No7 foundation that I have tried so far.</div><div><br /></div><div>The only downside, apart from the shade - which was my own fault, it does make my t-zone shiny after a while. It's no big deal really as you can always touch-up using some loose powder or blotting powder to reduce the shine. </div><div><br /></div><div>Overall I think this foundation is worth a try, provided that you found the right shade for you skin tone. :) For £11, it is a definite bargain considering how big the pot is! Have a good day everyone. </div><div><br /></div>Mayahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02174516043471875537noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-921307879797870611.post-29423059362773286762010-08-25T12:38:00.000-07:002010-08-25T16:01:32.343-07:00Soap and Glory<div style="text-align: left;">I turned 24 earlier this month! I am not complaining because it was the BEST birthday I have ever had. Even though I didn't celebrate with my family back home, I have my sister, my boyfriend and his family and our closest friends to celebrate with. Anyway, my sister got me beautiful presents (and so did everyone else) but for the sake of this blog, I am not gonna brag about every single thing that I got. I am just going to share with you the things that are worth reviewing.</div><div><div style="text-align: center;"><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div></div><div>First - Arc de Triumph 2 in 1 Brow Sharper and Highlighter</div><div><br /></div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7wF15pmGxmoobxLCkOVbDokdZs5tErGyizsvfF1hu3M4I3JN8aY5twyOmLIfy3m9nUbmNCTx3hwT4X2tfYZFJsPDHiGvNBlJQ4VbkLv6BV7RbNVO291z49jUrx_iGM0VvNHi_QpqRLJzJ/s320/eyebrow.jpg" style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5509484868035641314" /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>I found that a perfect eyebrow pencil is difficult to find, at least for me. They can either be too light or too dark for by eyebrow colour. Even when I have found the closest shade, it doesn't fill my eyebrows nicely and often they can look too 'drawn on'. This one however seems to have the perfect shade for my eyebrows. Do you think it was just luck? Who knows. Not only that it has the perfect shade, it is smudge-proof, long lasting and it fills in the sparse spots naturally as if I have never filled them.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>It's not creamy so it doesn't glide easily. Some people find this annoying as you have to press hard and I heard that this could result in brow hair loss? I personally like it hard and non creamy as it helps me get a precise and sharp eyebrows. The pink highlighter is very useful too. I won't use it on everyday basis though. I will only use it on a night out - to add more definition to my eyelid and give me a sharp looking eyebrow.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>The only downside about this item is that it has small particles of glitter and you can actually see them through your brow. I don't know why anyone would want shimmery eyebrow! It may look good during the summer but not for winter.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>Verdict: 4 out of 5</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div>Second is the Scrub Your Nose In It</div><div><br /></div><div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfLpR517oZ69ho2nO83yZxGQxN6BjPtFcaA6ORvdymF84DGoNcW7R7elwMPb1BcTkLZYa7Rah3OJRv6eGGedY6grILKaiOGdcIjYd7EMZePN41Si5IVYQgXqRg4Mr-eZOUbKB6qU17_mtS/s320/SDC11097.jpg" style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5509484525331085746" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>I have only used this scrub about 5 times only but so far, I have no bad reaction to it. I first thought that it is meant for your nose only. I really don't see the purpose of having two different scrubs - one for your nose and another one for the whole face. What a waste of money! However, upon reading the instructions, you can use this as a face scrub AND also as a mask. Isn't that cool? </div><div><br /></div><div>I have to say that this scrub surprises me. It has extremely fine particles (probably the finest I have ever tried), glides very easily, and has slightly minty scent. The best thing about this product is that it comes off easily with just several splashes. I don't know about you but most of my scrubs left me with some bits and residue on my skin. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>The result is pretty noticeable. My slightly congested and dull looking skin now looks fresh and brighter. A good exfoliator helps remove dead skin cells giving out a healthy looking skin and I think that this scrub did a good job!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>Verdict :4.5 out of 5</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Last one is Scent-Sationalism </div><div><br /></div><div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBzY0xMmPZ-VNzJgqd8dFMM-ljWDGC6kZe9_CgNQLuHo_g_3nJUsrwz3v6SRTpCG8teCBfsKfxVAu24-fGj2BQzgkSv7MXbXB5CW0hw45d5VHwnChozTehkK3Zsr8pN32QHiNw_AY2hO_v/s320/SDC11101.jpg" style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5509483893823849778" /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div>I don't really have much thing to say about this product apart from their amazing smell. My favourite one is the one in the middle - Spray on body moisturising mist. It smells sooo good and it lasts all day! You probably won't need perfume when you have this on your body. It also moisturises my skin pretty well (may not beat my Garnier Hydralock lotion) although your skin could get sticky if you sprayed too much. </div></div><div><br /></div><div>Verdict: 3 out of 5</div><div><br /></div><div>My sister has always been a fan of Soap and Glory and I am now too! I love the retro style packaging and their unique names which remind me of Benefit. For a drug store brand, the price is not cheap at all but not overly extortionate either. I am so excited to try other stuff and will definitely put some on my Christmas list! </div>Mayahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02174516043471875537noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-921307879797870611.post-74184539217681639742010-06-09T11:27:00.000-07:002010-08-25T12:21:40.096-07:00Glycolic Acid<div style="text-align: left;">I started having acne when I was 20 and believe me when I say that I have had countless treatments and magic solutions to try and get rid of these horrendous spots, but never succeeded! Even if I did, they are just small spots that are hardly noticeable! Third, it has definitely reduced excess oil from my face and made my make up last longer! Last but not least, there are hardly any blackheads on my skin! Can you believe it? I don't know which ingredients did that miraculous thing but I promise that I have not seen any bleackheads eversince I started using this product.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#FF0000;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#330099;">Cons:</span></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#6600CC;">I noticed that my face got soo greasy when I woke up in the morning. This didn't happen once, not even twice but almost a week. However, my face did turn normal after that.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#6600CC;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#6600CC;">It can dry out your skin soo bad and you can see fine lines which makes people think that you have wrinkles. This is not a big problem as a good moisturiser would do the job properly.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#FF0000;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#330099;">Overall:</span></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#6600CC;">If you have oily and acne-prone skin, this might be good for you. Do not worry too much about 'harsh' chemicals in this night cream as it has a very low percentage of glycolic acid. For less than £15, I'd say go ahead and give this miraculous product a try. I have just finished my first tub and I am waiting for my next one as they are currently out of stock. It has helped me alot and hope it will help you too!</span></div><o:p></o:p></span><p></p>Mayahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02174516043471875537noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-921307879797870611.post-73164648779792169202010-05-07T03:52:00.000-07:002010-06-10T17:53:05.385-07:00My lips like sugar<div style="text-align: left;">I probably have the worst lips in the world. It's dry, sensitive and 90% of the time, chapped. I don't really know what causes it. I have increased my water intake, I take supplements everyday and I hardly ever wear any lipstick. Ah, lipsticks are a total pain in the bum! Most of them seem to make my lips so chapped. It looks great for a day, and overnight I get pain and flaking lips that will last for several days. I have tried different brands but nothing seems to make my lips any better. Because of my sensitive lips, I opt for the pink Vaseline to give some colour to my lips. The only problem is that it doesn't last very long.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikkfGO1B4VRAtKj6htZuLaCnhfkDL3TcFNTvd3Zdh3iXcS86PxKbkSMUoiVMscap5__wbZ6yxF10Z9fop0W7SeWJVf1hRPe-rekWrYeM-Pb5hr6CTGbDo9B44DsxmnA35kdsJ0oWdWc4cJ/s200/ok.jpg" style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 161px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5481310814949554130" /><div style="text-align: left;">As I was searching for its cure on the internet, I found Body Shop Shea Lip Butter. It has beeswax which is good in treating and preventing dry, chapped lips. It comes in a cute small pot of 10ml and has a screw lid, making it a lot much easier to open. I honestly loathe vaselines packaging. One day, I spent ages trying to open it and because of that I had to use my teeth! ewww... Anyway, they have other flavours too such as mango, strawberry, coconut etc. I personally chose Shea lip butter because I thought it was more of a winter thing.</div></div><div><div><br /></div><div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgriLxaT6Y3sQM3I4s-ytLMa_snXiJJsBEdCyKdmFfhsyvMrZvQINdl7XmVR2N5hrgL3dTopy9H9sygECy8JOapu3JRD0LWkeR6qJVXsFeeio6XoFor4xoR8U9WTQ1YNukGXNM4Y3_tvJAj/s320/lips.jpg" style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 106px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5481308913104797506" /></div><div><br /></div><div>Upon using it, I am very impressed with it's rich texture. It also leaves my lips feeling soft and smooth almost all day. As it is rich and buttery, you don't have to put much on your lips (at least not when you are out as you would probably be walking in public with white lips!) making it lasts a fair amount of time. So far this is definitely my favourite. The packaging, size, texture and smell.. all good for me. </div><div><br /></div></div><div>The only downside of this lip butter is that it does not contain SPF and it melts easily in warm temperature. So it is definitely not right for summer.</div><div><br /></div><div>Maya</div><div>xoxo</div><div><br /></div>Mayahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02174516043471875537noreply@blogger.com0
